What is Electroporation?

As early as the 1970s, electroporation is being recognized as a method that increases the permeability of cell membranes through the application of electrical pulses. Over the years, it is commonly used in labs to study the efficacy of drugs and DNA changes.

In recent years, there is an increasing application of electroporation devices for aesthetic uses. NOT all electroporation uses the same technology.

What is D.E.P?

DERMOELECTROPORATION® stimulates the opening of the skin’s existing water-based channels to allow ionic drug (the substance) solutions to penetrate deep into the skin. It goes DEEPER AND FASTER than traditional Iontophoresis. With DERMOELECTROPORATION® micro and macro-molecules (greater than 800K Dalton in size, such as Hyaluronic, Vitamins, Amino acids, Heparin, Antinflammatories etc) are safely delivered into the body without modification of the ionic drug solutions pH and electrolysis effect of the ionic solution. This was not possible with traditional Ionthophoresis systems before!

DEP is one the few FDA-approved devices for the local administration of ionic drug solutions into the body for medical purposes and can be used as an alternative to injection. 

The efficacy of D.E.P. is clinically proven to work! It is now used to deliver certain vaccinations across the world with measurable titre levels proving that the vaccination has indeed gone through deep into the subcutaneous layer of the skin.  

It is better than an injection! Not only does D.E.P. achieve delivery of close to 100% of substances without injection, the application of electrical pulses directly stimulates the skin and promotes blood circulation to enable muscle toning, reduce puffiness and produce collagen and elastin.

What is Mesotherapy? 

Mesotherapy involves the injection of substances into the subcutaneous layers of the skin. It is wildly popular in aesthetics practice overseas. However, mesotherapy for aesthetic use is BANNED in Singapore clinics.

With the introduction of D.E.P. it means that we are now able to deliver results of mesotherapy which even Singapore clinics were unable to before, PLUS without the use of needles, pain and risk of bruising.

What are the limitations of electroporation?
